Pre-Congress Course - Course 4 - Emotional regulation as a mental health parameter (PORTUGUESE)

Behavioral sciences have traditionally left emotions out of the equation, of its scope of study. Everything related to the scientific study of the brain reported functions related to consciousness, such as: attention, perception, judgment, decision making, problem solving andmemory. Although neuroscience has brought to light the protagonism of emotions, in the second half of the nineties, mental health sciences have not yet definitively added the topic of emotional regulation to their clinical protocols. At the beginning of the 2000s, Caminha (2002) developed
an emotional regulation model for the treatment of children and adolescents, and this model was clinically improved and published in clinical instrument called the Regulation Triad Deck (2022). At the In this instrument, emotional regulation is worked on, taking as a starting point departure from empathy, precisely because this is the function that promotes emotional self-awareness. The instrument is structured with exercises original clinicians, having neurosciences, biology behavior and cognitive psychotherapies, organized in the form of three modalities, emotions, cognitions and behaviors, understanding that such functionsThey are interrelated and have an emotional base as a starting point. The instrument also expands the concept of regulation to the functions not only of emotions, but also cognitions and behaviors.
