NATALIA BARRIOS
My name is Natalia Barrios, I am a doctor graduated from the University of Buenos Aires. I completed my residency in child and adolescent psychiatry at the Carolina Tobar García Hospital and at the same time I did a specialization degree in general psychiatry at the University of Salvador. I graduated as a specialist in individual and family psychotherapy at the Maimonides University- Aiglé Foundation. I completed a postgraduate degree in Legal Medicine and a master’s degree in public health at the University of Buenos Aires. I am a professor of Mental Health in the same faculty, and I am finishing my training as a university teacher.Since 2015 I have collaborated as an advisor to the Brincar Foundation for Happy Autism. It is a Foundation created by parents dedicated to free work with families in situations of social vulnerability and to the training of professionals for the early diagnosis and treatment of children with the Autism Spectrum Condition. I currently work as a member of the professional advisory committee, and I am in charge of organizing professional training courses, teaching and researchI am the author of several articles and book chapters related to autism in adulthood, pharmacotherapy, and working with parents. I supervised the training of people in the community in care and cognitive accessibility for people with autism: airport staff, police officers, members of the justice system, teachers, lawyers, film and theater producers, musicians, employers of various companies.
I am a member of different national professional associations such as APSA (Association of Psychiatrists of Argentina) and AAP (Argentine Association of Psychiatrists) and international ones such as IACAPAP (International Association of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Related Professions) and INSAR (International Society for Autism Research).
