MARCELO JOSÉ ABDUCH ADAS BRAÑAS


Marcelo J. A. A. Brañas, M.D., is co-founder and co-director of the Adolescent Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) Outpatient Program (ADRE) at the Institute of Psychiatry of the University of Sao Paulo (USP). Through national and
international collaborations, the ADRE team expanded the care for BPD in Brazil by offering training (e.g., Good Psychiatric Management (GPM) Workshops), establishing a national Family Connections Program, teaching mental health professionals at USP, and providing psychiatric services. Dr. Brañas is an official GPM trainer by the Gunderson Personality Disorders Institute (McLean Hospital, Harvard Medical School) and is also trained in Mentalization-Based Treatment, Transference-Focused Psychotherapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. In addition, he is an author of international and national book chapters on clinical psychiatry, psychiatry interviewing, and personality disorders.
